Our story starts here
The Radolška čokolada chocolatier is owned and run by Gregor and Nataša Mikelj, occasionally assisted by their daughters Isabela and Lanai. After ten years of organising the biggest chocolate festival in Slovenia – The Radovljica Chocolate Festival – the town still didn’t have its own chocolatier. So, during the COVID-19 pandemic, we started experimenting in our kitchen at home. Today, we produce our creations in our chocolatier, which is located at the roundabout at the entrance to the old town centre of Radovljica, so you can enjoy chocolate delights throughout the year.
Everything is made in-house
All our treats are made from the finest quality SINGLE ORIGIN chocolate and are handmade in our workshop alongside the shop. The cocoa beans for the milk chocolate are from Peru, the dark chocolate contains aromatic cocoa from Ecuador, and our hazelnuts come from Piedmont. Our original recipes are enriched with local ingredients such as buckwheat, tarragon, honey, pollen, walnuts and rose extract.
Award-winning original flavours
In April 2022 our ‘Crunchy Buckwheat’ truffle was declared the winner in the competition to find the best chocolate of the Radovljica Chocolate Festival. The competition was judged by the esteemed chocolatier Jozef Zotter. The following year, we achieved second place with our ‘Goat’s Choice, Good Choice’s truffle. We also collaborate with the Michelin-starred chef Uroš Štefelin, and our ‘Crunchy Buckwheat’ truffle is part of his tasting menu.
